Three Ways In Which Meditation Can Improve Your Performance

It is an undisputed fact that the world becomes more competitive with every sun that sets. It has become harder to succeed financially and in other spheres of life without putting in more and more effort in whatever you do. However, it is typical of the human genealogy that one will break down at some point if there is too much pressure. More and more people are seeking resort in such techniques like meditation so that they can notch up their performance. Below are three ways in which meditation can help you achieve a better quality of life while improving your performance at work.

Focus

The basic fundamentals of meditation entail achieving a state of self-awareness and peace of mind. You are not supposed to think of anything but just concentrate on the rhythm of your breath. Consequently, you will learn how to focus all your energies on a task at hand. Some gurus even assert that it is possible to meditate while working. If you can focus your thought to a single task at a time, you will achieve better results, complete tasks in less time and live a happier life noting that it is unlikely to be stricken by stress when your mind is focused on a task.

Increase your creativity

It has been proven that people who meditate will eventually be more creative than those who are yet to discover this free recipe for success. If you take some time alone and allow your being to achieve a state of relaxation, the mind will automatically begin working more efficiently. The right side of the brain which is responsible for generating new ideas will especially benefit more from meditation. Whether you are sports person, an innovative genius or an entrepreneur, you can be sure of being awed by how far your capabilities extend when you begin meditating.

Rejuvenate your energies

Meditation is an effective technique which has been used for ages by people who needed to rejuvenate their energies. Some people’s performances deteriorate because they have depleted their energies and now experience low motivation after having remained devoted to their work for so long. Before you begin conditioning your mind to believe that the only way through which you can escape your exhaustion is by taking a vacation, start dedicating some of your free time to meditation and see how relieved you will feel after every session. Lastly, note that meditation is not as easy it sounds. Most people will need guidance before they can start meditating on their own.

What Is Meditation & How To Meditate

Meditation is a group of mental training techniques .You can use meditation to improve mental health and capacities, and also to help improve the physical health. Some of these techniques are very simple, so you can learn them from a book or an article; others require guidance by a qualified meditation teacher.

WHAT IS MEDITATION

Most techniques called meditation include these components:

1. You sit or lie in a relaxed position.
2. You breathe regularly. You breathe in deep enough to get enough oxygen. When you breathe out, you relax your muscles so that your lungs are well emptied, but without straining.
3. You stop thinking about everyday problems and matters.
4. You concentrate your thoughts upon some sound, some word you repeat, some image, some abstract concept or some feeling. Your whole attention should be pointed at the object you have chosen to concentrate upon.
5. If some foreign thoughts creep in, you just stop this foreign thought, and go back to the object of meditation.

The different meditation techniques differ according to the degree of concentration, and how foreign thoughts are handled. By some techniques, the objective is to concentrate so intensely that no foreign thoughts occur at all.

In other techniques, the concentration is more relaxed so that foreign thoughts easily pop up. When these foreign thoughts are discovered, one stops these and goes back to the pure meditation in a relaxed manner. Thoughts coming up, will often be about things you have forgotten or suppressed, and allow you to rediscover hidden memory material. This rediscovery will have a psycho-therapeutic effect.

THE EFFECTS OF MEDITATION

Meditation has the following effects:

1. Meditation will give you rest and recreation.
2. You learn to relax.
3. You learn to concentrate better on problem solving.
4. Meditation often has a good effect upon the blood pressure.
5. Meditation has beneficial effects upon inner body processes, like circulation, respiration and digestion.
6. Regular meditation will have a psycho-therapeutically effect.
7. Regular meditation will facilitate the immune system.
8. Meditation is usually pleasant.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HYPNOSIS AND MEDITATION

Hypnosis may have some of the same relaxing and psycho-therapeutic effects as meditation. However, when you meditate you are in control yourself; by hypnosis you let some other person or some mechanical device control you. Also hypnosis will not have a training effect upon the ability to concentrate.

A SIMPLE FORM OF MEDITATION

Here is a simple form of meditation:

1. Sit in a good chair in a comfortable position.
2. Relax all your muscles as well as you can.
3. Stop thinking about anything, or at least try not to think about anything.
4. Breath out, relaxing all the muscles in your breathing apparatus.
5. Repeat the following in 10 – 20 minutes:

— Breath in so deep that you feel you get enough oxygen.
— Breath out, relaxing your chest and diaphragm completely.
— Every time you breathe out, think the word “one” or another simple word inside yourself. You should think the word in a prolonged manner, and so that you hear it inside you, but you should try to avoid using your mouth or voice.

6. If foreign thoughts come in, just stop these thoughts in a relaxed manner, and keep on concentrating upon the breathing and the word you repeat.

As you proceed through this meditation, you should feel steadily more relaxed in your mind and body, feel that you breathe steadily more effectively, and that the blood circulation throughout your body gets more efficient. You may also feel an increasing mental pleasure throughout the meditation.

THE EFFECTS OF MEDITATION UPON DISEASES

As any kind of training, meditation may be exaggerated so that you get tired and worn out. Therefore you should not meditate so long or so concentrated that you feel tired or mentally emptied.

Meditation may sometimes give problems for people suffering from mental diseases, epilepsy, serious heart problems or neurological diseases. On the other hand, meditation may be of help in the treatment of these and other conditions.

People suffering from such conditions should check out what effects the different kinds of meditation have on their own kind of health problems, before beginning to practice meditation, and be cautious if they choose to begin to meditate. It may be wise to learn meditation from an experienced teacher, psychologist or health worker that use meditation as a treatment module for the actual disease.

Death is a hard thing to get past.  I lost my husband of only 10 years in 2009, then lost my Mother in Aug. 2011 and after moving to Arizona from California, I thought I was doing well but I wasn’t.  Over time I noticed that my routine of starting my days with some EFT or Tapping, then listening to some Abraham-Hicks while I worked.  Then meditating in the afternoon, I was no longer doing and I could tell and feel the difference.

I really didn’t realize how much difference it made in my day to day living and how important it is for my peace of mind and well-being.  I’m determine to incorporate this back in my life as I now see how much I really need it.  It helps keep me focus on what I want in my life, what sort of life I want and the sort of people I want in my life.  I no longer want to just get through life, I want to truly enjoy my life! Things have happened recently in my life that feel like steps backwards, I don’t want to go backwards cause those things didn’t work.

Healing With Binaural Beats

This excerpt is taken from Binaural Beats Healing For Everyone

If you search the Net for “binaural beats” you’ll promptly discover there’s a whole industry built upon the idea that listening to binaural beats may produce all sorts of desired effects in your brain.

It may alter your mood, help you abide by a diet or quit smoking, get you pumped up for a contest, calm you down, put you to sleep, heighten your memory, act as an aphrodisiac, heal headaches, and even balance your chakra.

Walking into any spa, massage centre, beauty centre and the likes, the first thing one would notice is the tranquil and quiet surroundings that are only “broken” by the equally intoxication tranquil sounding light music in the background.

Similar yet different to this is the binaural beats. The underlying reason for using this type of music is similar and so is the intended goal. Binaural beats are sounds that are supposed to stimulate the brain in specific ways. These sounds have been claimed to help induce relaxation, meditation, creativity and other desirable mental states.

The way the brain is affected depends on the varying frequencies of each tone. Each ear listens to these tones at different frequencies.

This may sound strange, but that is the basis of binaural beats. The right ear my listen to a tone of 300Hz while the left ear listens to the same sounds but at a different tone of 310Hz.

In order for the phenomenon to work the low frequency pulsations in the amplitude and sound localization of the sound must be presented separately, ideally using head phones.

Also the frequencies of the tones must be below 1000Hz for the beating to be noticeable. Also the difference between the two frequencies must be small, otherwise the two tone sounds would clash and come out sounding separately, and thus the binaural effects are lost.

Binaural beats have created much interest to those in the neurophysiological world where there is always an ongoing research investigating the sense of hearing. Binaural beats reportedly influence the brain in more stubble ways to reduce anxiety and provide other health benefits too.

Behind The Beats

Upon hearing these binaural beat the brain the processes these sounds through both spatial perception and stereo auditory recognition and then creating the responses and activations of the various points in the brain.

These activations then bring to the fore front of the brain, into the thought process the different feelings, sensations and perceptions in specific areas. Below are a few example of what one can expect to gain from the different binaural beat waves:

Gamma waves – should ideally be at the 40Hz level. When tuned to this the brain in then expected to be able simulate higher mental activity, which includes better perception, better problem solving features, better control of fear and consciousness.

Beta waves – range frequency should be between 13 – 39 Hz in order for the binaural beat to stimulate the desired results. These results are noted as an active, busy, or anxious thinking coupled with active concentration levels, arousal, cognition, and paranoia. Not altogether desirable but may have some purpose.

Alpha waves – are kept between 7 – 13 Hz in order to ensure optimum levels of relaxation while being in a fully conscious state, pre sleep and pre wake modes of drowsiness. REM sleep phase and also dream like states.

Theta waves – normally adjusted to 4 – 7 Hz which is ideal the deep meditative and relaxed levels need to be reached or achieved. It is ideal for NREM sleep patterns.

Delta waves – tunes to 4 Hz to create the natural inner self relaxed state to encourage deep dreamless sleep and loss of body awareness. This of course is ideal when an individual is seeking complete disconnection from the awareness state.

Being Calm Is Great

Even though I am relatively new to using the Law Of Attraction and all that goes with it, I am noticing a great calmness within me since I’ve started practicing it, and for that I am truly grateful for.

I know what has helped tremendously is music that I have found that includes brainwave entrainment or BWE.  The music is beautiful and calming and can be stimulating at the same time.  I use this music to help center me and get my thoughts and feelings on the right track to attracting those things that I want in my life.

Like most things worthwhile in life, this is a work in progress which means some days are better than others.  But I like knowing I have tools at my disposal that can help me pivot my thinking towards more positive things.

I am noticing that no matter what issues come up during my days, I stay calm and don’t stress over things like I use to. I know that as long as I continue to think positively things will get better.

I most like being able to listen to these when I go to bed.  For one thing, it gives my brain something to focus on which helps me to be able to relax so that I can fall asleep and gives me positive feelings while I sleep.

This is my favorite place to get BWE music, click here if you would like to receive a complementary Sound Transformation Starter Kit

Here is an audio clip from Abraham-Hicks that I really like. It Is Good To Feel Good

Have A Wonderful Day!
