Change Your Mindset, Change Your Life

A lot of people claim they know the secret to success. They will claim it is motivation, ambitiousness, positive thinking, conscientiousness and all sorts of other abstract nouns. However they are missing the true vital ingredient, the real key that will get you started on the road to success to begin with: desire.

It Comes From Within

It is obvious really, but if you are going to be successful in any area of your life then you need to want to be successful. It does not matter how hard working you are, how much time you spend at work, but if you do not particularly want to climb to the top it just will not happen. Anything along these lines is a competition essentially, and if you do not truly desire success then you’ll still be going against a whole lot of people who do.

You can not really have motivation without desire, but even if you could, where would you be directing that motivation? It is desire that will help you keep your eye on the prize and act as the motivator as you put in more time after work, or come up with complex plans on how to woo the guy/gal of your dreams. And the more you desire something the more you’ll work to get it. And as you do you’ll find that you subconsciously even help to navigate through the mire of challenges and that the world just kind of steps out of the way.

Of course not all desire will work. Firstly, your desire needs to be realistic, and secondly your desire needs to be concrete. A desire to fly for example probably is only going to end with disappointment unless you are from Krypton, and a desire to ‘be more successful’ is an abstract aim that’s really quite subjective.

How to Find Your Desire

Some people though do not seem to have any desire at all however, and these people can be quite aimless in their lives. They aren’t going to progress because they do not know how they want to progress and they do not know what they want from life. The thing is though, everyone has something they want, it is just a matter of finding out what it is.

If you are struggling to know what your desire is, then think of your life now as it is. Now think of how it could be improved. Now think of how your life would look if you had everything the way you want it. That’s pretty desirable right? Maybe you have got a big house and kids, or a small house and great artistic job, or you are a movie star, or a high flying business man. Now you know what your desires are, write them down and break them down into smaller steps and priorities. Suddenly you have direction and motivation. Good luck!

3 Mindfulness Techniques That Will Make You A Better Person

If you consider mindfulness to be a new age fad, or just another latest buzzword, then think again! With everyday pressures and stresses on your lives, it sometimes becomes arduous to feel motivated, and with the whole weight of the of the globe on your shoulders, you may sometimes become sad with your life. That is why, mindfulness has been around for many centuries. It is an approach associated with awareness that comes when you pay attention, on purpose, in the current moment. It helps to improve your mindset and the way you live. Here are some mindfulness techniques that will make you a better person:

1. Practice A Breathing Exercise

This is the easiest way to bring the power of mindfulness to your daily life. It includes a brief and simple meditation routine. All that you need to do is sit still and focus on your breath as it goes in and out of your lungs, without forcing or pushing your breathing. You just have to observe it and focus on it. In case other thoughts creep into your mind and begin to distract you, do not worry. Acknowledge those thoughts, and resume your focus on your breathing pattern each time. You must do this for 15 minutes everyday. You will immediately experience a feeling of calm. This in turn will help you to be more aware of your feelings and thoughts with a greater degree of calmness. And with this awareness, comes the feeling to freely choose appropriate and effective responses in stressful situations rather than losing your equilibrium.

2. Establish Mindfulness Triggers

It is suggested to set up some triggers, in order to constantly remind you throughout the day to relax, and also practice mindfulness. For instance, when your phone rings, take a deep breath before answering the call, and completely focus on what the other person is saying without any multitasking. Another example, when you come to a red light, or just before entering a conference, use it as a trigger to be mindful for just a moment. It will help you to become self-aware, thereby completely transforming you and also inspiring others.

3. Spend Time In Nature

This is another technique of practicing mindfulness that will help you to become a better person. Take a walk in your garden or park, or anywhere in nature everyday, on your own. Observe your surroundings, immerse yourself in the environment, do not answer any phone calls, and also resist the urge to Facebook then. Just be mindful of the nature’s sounds you hear, and reap the benefits of this technique completely.

These techniques will definitely help you to become a better person – they are wonderful tools to be happy, calm, and centered in any situation, and improve your overall quality of life. So try them right away!

I believe that we can change the world. 

I do.

And it’s not necessarily with what we say or what we do. It’s not necessarily with our actions or our accomplishments.

Our ability to change the world goes much deeper than that – it goes all the way down to the core of our being.

Our ability to change the world resides in whether we allow love to flow out of our hearts and into the lives of every person that we encounter.

That’s all. And that’s everything. Truly.

I believe that we each have this amazing light at our core – this inner flame that is fed by love. And when it’s ignited, it has the ability to light the entire universe.

And I believe that it’s our choice if we will reject this love or feed this love.

Imagine living in a world where you were greeted with love, where you received endless love everywhere you went, where you were constantly filled with love by everyone you interacted with.

How would you feel?

Loved, right?

I would imagine that you would feel full and grounded and light and free all at the same time. I would imagine that you would be so excited to take this love that you’ve received and share it with others – to allow it to ripple out into the entire world – reaching one person at a time.

I would imagine that the way you saw the world would begin to change. And I would imagine that the way you saw others would begin to change. And I would imagine that the way others saw you would begin to change as well.

It starts with love. And it ends with love. 

It’s all about love. 

That’s all. And that’s everything. Truly.

I know that it isn’t always easy to open up to love. I know that it can hurt horribly when we get our hearts broken. I know, truly I do.

But I also know that love is everything – it’s our purpose, our reason for living, our essence, our way that our soul speaks to us, our connection with others and with the entire universe. 

And if we have closed off our lifeline to all that is, then we aren’t truly living. We are simply existing.

And I want more than that for you, for me, for all of us.

I want each of us to fully experience life – to fully experience love.

And it starts with one smile, with one act of kindness, with one step into the land of vulnerability.

This is where I live, and it’s honestly a wonderful place.

Are things in this special space perfect all of the time? Of course not. My heart still gets broken, and I still shy away from being so open from time to time. But I always come back because I know how wonderful I feel when I am here.

And I know how many lives my love can touch when I allow myself to be in this love-filled space.

I have seen the ripple. And it’s absolutely amazing. I have seen lives change because I am living with an open heart. And so I know that this is true. I know that we can put so much more love into the world simply by choosing to.

I know it.
